Exciting news. The Warrnambool Greyhound Racing Club has once again joined forces with the Mt Gambier Racing Club and have come up with the Border Challenge.
The series will see 4 greyhounds from Warrnambool Challenge 4 Greyhounds from Mt Gambier with the winner scooping the $4,000 first prize.
Warrnambool will hold their heats for this event over 450m on Thursday December 14th whilst Mt Gambier’s heats will be run on Sunday December 16 over 512m. Both clubs have their own criteria for the event. The final in 2023 will be held at Warranmbool on Thursday December 21st, over 450m. Warrnambool’s nominations are are to be made through the normal process.

450m
- Greyhound have had a minimum of 2 starts in Warrnambool previously.
- Open to greyhounds at Grade 5, 6 or 7.
- Have been domiciled in the trainers kennels for no less than 3 months.
- If your greyhound qualifies for the final you must make it available for the final.
- Must be in one of the below postcodes (140kms from the club) - (distance to SA Border from here as the crow flies).
