Theye aren’t too many Victorians that don’t have enduring happy memories of Warrnambool. Whale watching, historic Flagstaff Hill, the Great Ocean Road, sprintcars, horse racing…
There’s another annual event that has – for decades – been creating memories for families who visit the south-west over the New Year period; Warrnambool Greyhound Club’s famous Seaside Festival, and it’s bigger and better this year.
For four nights between December 28, 2024, until January 4, 2025, the club becomes a festive family venue. There are shows and games nightly, a chance for the kids to be a junior greyhound handler, free kid’s BBQ, activities for all ages and free admission.
Each day of the festival there will be extra features, like Jumping Castle, Face Painting, Spin Art, Photo Booth, Magician, Balloon Twisting, Kelly Sport, Animal Zoo, a Bucking Bull and even a Taylor Swift Tribute Show.
Warrnambool Greyhound Club Manager Craig Monigatti is again bracing for the crowds. “Every year seems to get better, especially because so many holiday-makers who visit the South-West over summer keep coming back”.
“We really do concentrate on providing something for everyone, and so many differing activities over the four nights, you can come back more than once and see something different. On top of that, some great greyhound racing for everyone to enjoy.”
