Border Challenge – Warrnambool vs Mt Gambier

Exciting news.  The Warrnambool Greyhound Racing Club has once again joined forces with the Mt Gambier Racing Club and have come up with the Border Challenge.

 

The series will see 4 greyhounds from Warrnambool Challenge 4 Greyhounds from Mt Gambier with the winner scooping the $4,000 first prize.

 

Warrnambool will hold their heats for this event over 450m on Thursday June 17 whilst Mt Gambier’s heats will be run on Sunday June 20th over 512m.  Both clubs have their own criteria for the event. The final in 2021 will be held at Mt Gambier on Sunday June 27th, over 512m.  Warrnambool’s nominations are are to be made through the normal process.

Warrnambool Criteria

 

  • Greyhound have had a minimum of 2 starts in Warrnambool previously.
  • Open to greyhounds at Grade 5, 6 or 7.
    • Have been domiciled in the trainers kennels for no less than 3 months.
    • Must be in one of the below postcodes (140kms from the club)  - (distance to SA Border from here as the crow flies).
