Blue Skies Over Warrnambool

The sky above Warrnambool was blue for new-kid-on-the-block Jason Thomson on Wednesday night.

Thomson’s greyhound Weather Whatever was winless heading the Warrnambool Classic series, but now he is getting set for a semi-final of the rich Group 2 series.

Weather Whatever, trained by Thomson at Boolite in the Wimmera Region, broke through for his first win in a heat of the Warrnambool Classic after managing two minor placings in his first four starts.

“It was very rewarding to get a winner last night. I’ve only been training greyhounds for two years and this is the first time I’ve had a runner in the Warrnambool Classic.”

“It’s such a competitive series and to get a winner was very rewarding because I’ve been regularly driving to and from Warrnambool to trial my dogs there for the last three weeks which has equated to many hours on the road,” Thomson said.
