The 25th Warrnambool Classic kicks off this week with heats to be run across consecutive nights (Tuesday and Wednesday).
One of the richest greyhound races in provincial Victoria, the Group 2 Warrnambool Classic (450m) boasts first prize money of $75,000, with the series incorporating a unique format in that greyhounds must be registered at a cost in excess of $200 for the event when they are young untried pups.
And speaking of in excess, or should we say INXS, a tribute band formed in honour of the legendary Australian rock group will be playing loud and proud on Warrnambool Cup & Classic night, Wednesday May 6.

In the meantime, however, there is an abundance of top class greyhounds racing at Warrnambool over the next two weeks to establish the finalists of the Warrnambool Classic and Warrnambool Cup.
